Rumors of War
Here are a few things to think about before watching the next episode of The Event that airs on April 25 entitled, Strain.
Population Reduction
Sophia and the others don't believe that Non-Terrestrials and humans can co-exist. This was the case when Thomas was a live, and It is still what Sophia believes now that Thomas is dead. However, Sophia plans on bringing her people to Earth anyway; now that their home world has no hope, and the President has had her son killed. Sophia and the other EBEs are after a weapon of genocide (likely biological); humans need to be wiped out for them to take Earth...but why?
There's only about 2 billion Non-Terrestrials that need to be teleported to Earth. The Earth currently supports a population of about 7 billion humans. Whey do Sophia and her people need to rid the Earth of all people. Is it spite, is it fear that a human population of any size is a threat, or is there some technical reason? Before we got news that their home world's star was going super nova, it was mentioned that their planets resources (they hinted at water a lot) were close to depleted. Are they just greedy and want to make sure there's enough Earth to go around?
A New Assassination Plot
Time seems to repeat itself. Vice President Raymond Jarvis was Dempsey's mole in the assassination attempt of President Martinez. Martinez almost died for attempting to free the Non-Terrestrials and tell the world of their existence. Now VP Jarvis is a mole in Sophia's assassination attempt against Martinez. This time Martinez is wanted dead for trying to suppress the truth and eradicate the Non-Terrestrials. Funny how that all works out.
The President keeps making the mistake of trusting and distrusting people at the wrong times. Jarvis he should of never trusted!
Speaking of trust...what about the First Lady!? Most didn't want to believe that Christina Elias was a sleeper, because it was too obvious. It played out that the secret Mrs. Elias was hiding was the fact that she is Dominican and not Cuban and that she is an illegal alien (terrestrial). That said...she seems guilty, like she's hiding more then a Dominican heritage. Is she the one who put that cell phone in their son's book-bag for Thomas?
Dempsey Is No Angel
We now know that Mr. Dempsey is a being that can die...if you choose to believe that he really killed himself. Before dying he was nice enough to explain to Sean that he was a Sentinel protecting humans from the Non-Terrestrials for three millennia. Dempsey also says that Sean is unique; basically he doesn't follow the rules of fate. For this reason Sean Walker is special and Dempsey gives him the task of taking his place and protecting the human race.
Will Sean Walker be able to stop the coming war?
